Wings pass that's a joke right? Back to the gm pool to find another Terrible leafs gm that overvalues their first round exit losers and wants too picks. Nope not getting anything more than a 5th for that crap

Any 18 skater lineups with no cap space left are not realistic

Points for creativity. I personally think if Petro hits free agency he's going to go back to wanting the Josi deal at a minimum, if not start a bidding war somewhere (only takes 2 teams!) and get up to $9.5 AAV or so. Wouldn't surprise me. At $8.5 the Blues would probably re-sign him. Rumors out of the mill is that Petro is at the Josi deal and Army wants closer to $8 AAV. I guess we'll see.

No matter what I think the Maple Leafs are going to have to part with a major piece to make it happen. I also don't know in a flat cap world why the Jackets would part with bargain Korpisalo unless you REALLY overpaid for him.

The Blue Jackets decline. Columbus is looking for Top-6 talent, preferably a 2C. Johnsson and Brooks don’t fit the bill, and this deal doesn’t bring us closer to that goal.

Well that's not true. The value is roughly right - Dermott = 2nd, Korshkov = 3rd, roughly, but I agree that Detroit isn't the right fit. Why bother trading picks for NHL ready players when your team is just gonna be dog sh*t for the next 3-5 years at least, right? Stockpile picks and hope you're not a bottom feeder in 2025 still

We will be competitive in 2022 instead of first round exits everyear like your super team. Wings pass east on this, much rather have the picks in a deep draft then 2 below average players who couldn't help you get past the first round. I'm sure those 2 players will be happy to be traded somewhere belse but crappy Toronto, just won't be in the nhl for those asking prices. The msot you can get is a late 3rd and that's a maybe, if not good luck keeping them

2022 lol keep dreaming. Maybe watch some leafs games before calling them crap. I agree that wings pass because it makes no sense for a non competitive team to trade picks for roster players.

Wings are at least 2 to 3 years away from making the playoffs. Maybe more. They have core players like Mantha, Larkin, Bertuzzi, Hronek and Fabbri, but everything else is young, like Seider, Veleno, Rasmussen, Zadina, Mc Issacs and whomever we pick in this years draft. They lack a goalie in the system that wows anyone. It will take time as Yzerman has said, but the future is getting better as we are getting younger and shedding contracts like Daley, Ericksson, Helm and Filipula. The two that will continue are the Adelkader and Neilsson. But in 2 more years one of the two or both will be gone. It is just going to take time.

As far as trading for players for picks, it is just not realistic. Yzerman took chances on ppl layers and traded prospects that he believed did not fit the future for others he though fit better. He was 1 for 3. Perlinni and Comrie failed but he seems to hit on Fabbri. It cost us Regula, Saarjarvi and DeLa Rose. I presume he will continue this trend until he sticks the minors with His type.of players, trading picks just does not seem to be in the cards.

Oh I do watch them, a team with crappy goaltending, way to many overpriced soft forwards and a really bad d-core, I've watched them first round exit ever season

Oh I watch hockey all the time, I watch the leafs shake hands of their opponents in defeat for 53 years, get a clue man, you're team is overrated and we aren't taking your scaps for top picks

You’re over the cap. You forgot to add scratch players. Any situation with the core 4 still together is pretty bad imho

You clearly don’t. I don’t think you even know who these players are. I also have a hard time believing you have been around for 53 years. You sound like a 12 year old.

Uh I'm not that old, but know they haven't won since 67. But since I've been born in the early 80s pal. I know whose these guys are, still not giving you these picks for these guys

nobody is saying that it's a smart move for Detroit. Of course they shouldn't move picks for roster players yet because they won't be in playoff contention. Other teams that are remotely close to contention and have a need at LD, however, might take Dermott for a 2nd rounder. If not, fine, Dermott was actually very good in the playoffs, and is young with upside. We'll keep him for ourselves, which is what I'm hoping they'll do anyways
