The goalie discussion is one of my favorites, and now that we saw the Bruins get a touchdown scored against them, it becomes apparent how much Rask actually does for them. That being said, I still think, atleast this season, Hellebuyck was a little bit better. The Jets defense allowed more expected goals than the friggin Red Wings! and Hellebuyck still carried them to a play-in spot. Its definitely close though.

Rask has let in almost a touchdown this year as well... take into account the Carolina series and we can see that Halak was the better goalie. Had 5 goals in 3 games and Rask had 6 in 2. So we probably shouldn't look at 1 game.

Carlson and Headman are both finalists for the Norris but not on here? Hamilton would have been a finalist if he did not get hurt also not here

Hughes and Werenski come off

Hedman and Carlson are literally both Norris finalists where are they. Slavin and Hamilton should be there too, with Jones as the 7th D. Love the kids but they aren’t at that level yet

I think they are outliers for sure and Rask is still a tremendous goalie. Hellebuyck had some 5 goal games himself, but these things happen when your defense is mostly league average players.

Neither Hughes nor Makar have a right to be on this list, I mean they are sheltered and get points mostly on the PP. There is better all around dmen than them

As of right now I agree. But those 2 are going to be #1 and #2 in the league in a couple years

Yea, Rask is amazing. But his team also is really good, Best Goalie is Helle, I like Gibson as an option as well.

Yea, well just check his zone start stats and then tell me if he's a complete defender.

I'm not biased🤨😅
Heiskanen is the best of the 4 right now, has been all year. I like Dahlin's upside, his d partners have never been good so it holds him back. If he had someone who was responsible defensively he would be putting up Makar/Hughes numberz, that's just my thoughts. Lmk what yours are

Its hard for me to ever say anything nice about Dahlin since we got MISTA SVECHNIKOV 2nd.

IMO I think youre right about Heiskanen. It depends on what Dallas decides to do in the next couple of years.

Colorado is going to be a force for awhile so my bet is on Makar having the best Career

Yea, that's fair. I wish we had Svech but I wouldn't trade Raz for him

He is good, but I don't think he will ever have the top end skill of those guys, the players older than them I see being really good are Werenski/Provorov/Chabot I think those 4 will be in Norris votes for years to go.

I agree that his offense hasn't come along as well as those guys but he doesn't get the best offensive assignments with krug around. He may only be a 40 PT dman but I'll take him in his own zone over any of those guys.
