I don’t follow TB all that close so I’m curious what the masses think of these moves. How close are the trades and contracts? Who would actually pay for TJ? I doubt Van would

Well, you are still over the cap with only 21 players.

You traded the right guys, but with the cap situation Tampa is in, I wouldnt expect those returns. i think you can get cirelli for less on a 3 year deal and id move on from shattenkirk for foote to shave 900K off the cap

Id hardly categorize COL as "cap strapped" lol
Paying a 2nd line winger who gives you 45pts with a contract of 4.4mil x 3yr is good value

The problem with Tampa isnt that they are in cap hell. They just have too many good players. And when you have good players, you have to pay them.

I kinda blanketed a $950 contract over the 3rd/4th line RFAs, I doubt they all get that, I’m sure I was either a little high or low for each so that $16 thousand is kinda a wash. That being said, they are still really close to the cap with only the one Scratch..

Yea, I figured the Van trade was a bad connection. Part of my curiosity with making this was to see who is actually interested in TJ. I think he still has value but he’s over paid so I think a mid rd pick with some retained salary is about the best they can hope for.
Also; who’s overpaid?

I think he meant TB is so cap strapped that Col can take advantage of them in a deal for Killorn

Would you do Lehko & Armia + 2nd for Palat, Killorn... Tampa would save 5M

there is no reason vancouver would accept this trade and they literally couldn't because they'd be over the cap

Well, if nobody waives then they really have no cap to pay any of Cernak, Cirelli, or Serg. As a Det fan, I hope this happens!

Yeah that’s not what I meant. I meant TBL, who are going to be desperate to move salary and yeah Killorn is a nice player but I wouldn’t be giving up a 1st rd pick for him:

Vancouver can't afford Tyler Johnson, Besides he doesn't want to play in Canada he wont waive to go there.

I just don't see any player "falling on the Tampa cap sword". Tampa is too good a team for them wanting to leave. Besides Gourde and Johnson may not be worth their contract so they are really tough move even if they willing to be traded to a few select teams.

Meh, you're adding 4.45mill for 4 years with a guy who has NTC during the time you basically have to sign all your big guns.. and all your getting is a guy who gets 40pts on average per year on the leagues highest scoring team.. if I'm colorado that 1st goes toward someone who's a proven playmaking winger
