Ekblad Parayko Gudas

Created by: TMLBRIAN
Team: 2020-21 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 28, 2020
Published: Aug. 28, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I normally give Clifford 3x1m a year. He decided to take a 2000 pay cut to make this team fit the cap perfectly....

This would be the best DCorp in the League. Period. For 2 years. But they lose both Sandin and Lily.

Thoughts?

Florida takes that and disappears instantly in a puff of magician smoke.

On the other hand, the Blues just glare at you, walk away and fake their death to avoid you.

St Louis gets a big return for 2 years of Parayko. I understand St Louis not wanting to trade him though. But this is adding an extra 1st rounder to the trade proposal that has been floating around (which I know st louis fans hate it).

The trade that has been floating around is a pure fabrication. And this "big return" is all futures (we want no part of Johnsson, it must be said). Why would a genuine top Cup contender trade one of its most important players for futures? It seems like you've negelcted to ask yourself this question.

The Leafs are not getting Parayko. It;s way past time for their fans to realize and accept this.

i concur that futures aren't a priority as armstrong will ride this window until the tires come off. ROR is the man. But, the Leafs do have the assets if they add to a Nylander base and the captain comes back. Agreed?

Honestly, no. And taking Nylander not only makes it much harder to keep Petro, it may well cost us another key player next year. I have nothing against Willie, he'd be great to have. But we don't need him and he's not worth shutting the window for.

Futures for cap space, to resign Pietro. That's what this is. Which is why it makes sense. And it's fair that they don't want any part of Johnsson, probably unnecessary cap space they don't need.

If I were St Louis I would try and make that cap space in other ways to keep Pietro and Parayko.

Pietros gone. Blues aren't trading Parayko.

It makes absolutely no good sense. In fact, it aggressively makes poor sense. We have plenty of other players who can be moved, moving Parayko is a non-starter. THAT makes sense. And futures are not going to come ahead the current Cup window. THAT makes sense.

I genuinely think that any team that has multiple players over 10 million in salary cap significantly hurt their chance of winning a cup Would you rather have an A and D rated player or two B's? When you're matching lines in a game and one line is super expensive , a shutdown defense kills any chance you have. You get destroyed with the second, third lines, and 4th line. Your power play improves but if any of those players get injured, you can throw any thoughts of a championship out the window. How many teams has a team won the cup with multiple players over 10 mill, only Chicago comes to mind.

I truly think the best play for Toronto is to trade Mathews. Marners production vs. his cap means you are trading very low. Thats why I'd look to move Mathews and not necessarily to the blues. If it were I'd be looking at something like

Parayko, Dunn, bozak, 1st for Mathews.
