I know that Niskaken is a great player, but you don't trade a 15th overall pick in a good draft, a solid d-man and a solid prospect for 33-year-old with one year left on his deal. There are better ways to get a defenceman.

COL declines. Don’t need a goalie prospect as they have Annunen and Werner, don’t need Bracco because they have Kaut, Bowers, Ranta, Beaucage, etc... which leaves Engvall who is interesting but isn’t nearly enough to get Zadorov. It was a different spin though, good effort maybe drop 2 and add a pick.

The value is a bit heavy, but what do you expect a team that is contending to want for their top pair dman with salary retained? It’s going to take an overpay.

Also Kivihalme is 25. Boarderline proapect.
