3 years older, makes $1m more, 6 years left as opposed to 4 -- NSH will never make this trade, even with picks/prospects added.

Not to nitpick, but the condition on the Red Wings pick if that guy plays more than 41 games in the 20-21 season makes no sense when picks involved are before the 20-21 season starts.
Also, who is he? I guess I have to look him up?

Edit: Looks like he’d have a real hard time beating out any of our forwards. Like, an impossible time beating out any of our forwards

That Vlasic contract is the kiss of death. I like the player but it simply cannot be justified with a contract like that. I'd rather be a worse team without him than a better team with him and that contract.

Derp on my part on the year for picks.

Red Wings were really close to signing him out of Europe but he chose the Sharks at the time. Wasn't sure if he would fit and it is a new GM now so maybe Edmonton would be the better spot 🤷‍♂️

HARD pass on Bjugstad, I'd rather go after Smith in FA. The other trades are fine. I'd expect Nashville to probably reject that and Detroit definitely does because I think it's likely that Sumo just becomes a UFA after not getting a QO. The Reimer trade is fine value, but I'm not sure why we'd do that when, yet again, we could take advantage of the decent goalies in the FA market and just sign one of them for free. Now if Carolina were to retain, it would be a much different story...

I don’t know what Kurtz was on when he wrote that, those PIT and NSH trades are horrendous.

Edit: the whole article is general was yikes

I don't think SJS have to give that up to get Bjugstad.
But I do think him going to SJS is a good deal for them.
He'll either sit on LTIR and cost nothing, or he'll produce. At which point you can flip him for assets at TDL.

Yeah I'm not the biggest Kurz fan (he actually had me blocked on Twitter for a while 🤣).

Sheng Peng is the best writer/insider for Sharks stuff these days
