Deals look good to me.

And while I am as bullish on Reilly Walsh as anyone, I think they'd need to sign a stop-gap RHD in this scenario. He may need a year.

Also, Jesper Bratt will either sign 2-year or long-term, no? I don't think NJD wants to give him shortest route to UFA.

its not like we need jvr

Hes not the final piece to our puzzle, after looking at it again, it makes no sense for us to consider

Even without retention the devils still have more than enough cap space to take on the full contract and in the worst case you leave him unprotected and he's off the books just like that. He's a 20-25 goal scorer yearly and its not like the devils couldn't use someone to just put the puck in the net. He'd probably be a great piece to play with Hischier or Hughes.

From a positive view; from a negative view he is 31, already looking like he is regressing, cap hit $7,000,000 for 3 more years, had okay numbers playing on a much better team than the Devils, and has been scratched during the playoffs,

Also as Smitty mentioned, the Devils aren't a LW away from competing, might as well save cap and leave a spot open in the top 6 for Bratt, Boqvist, Kuokkanen, or maybe even Foote.
