I said acquired role players

Fair enough. Rutherford did a great job at that, but I feel lots of Pens fans don’t give enough credit to Shero and Patrick in the job they did building the core that went to win said back to back cups. If Kapanen is a sign of things to come, coming from a fan of a team who witnessed a GM drunk on past championships throw valuable assets at trying to go for another run with a core that can’t keep up, I would hope management ousts JR before he does anything else like that.

Eh they were okay. Yeah they did draft the core, but crosby and malkin were generational talents lol. And id rather JR continue to go all in and squeeze ever ounce of the crosby and malkin era instead of trying to build their prospect pool. Might as well go into a complete rebuild once the 2 retire

Honestly, im enjoying him as the GM. Every year they are adding to help win the cup. Its more entertaining than other GMs sitting and doing nothing,

I agree tbh, id rather have some swing and misses rather than not doing anything at all. Its never a dull moment with GMJR. every year theres been at least one MAJOR trade.

People love to rip on JR but they forget he traded nothing for John Marino...

are you freaking kidding me.
I mean ****, who didn't realize that the NHL going it's longest period without a trade was going to result in JR doing something absurdly stupid.

Who did Rutherford add? Bryan Rust? Matt Murray? Your core players in Pittsburgh were there before Rutherford.

Well I do recall Rutherford making a trade with the Leafs, that ended up in two cups...just saying...
