That’s a tough one. Faksa Is a lot like Johan Larsson. Both are very good defensive centers, Larsson is a UFA and probably wouldn’t resign.
I would personally make this trade, but without Davidsson.

I’ll admit I’m surprised by Sabres fans. Yes Faksa has a down year. But he’s a perfect placeholder imo for Cozens. He can handle major defensive responsibilities, adds a size/physicality element, and can chip in 30+ points every year no matter where he plays in the lineup. He’s a better version of Larsson, and we need that type of player that can handle those minutes.

That qualifies him to play 3rd line center, not 2nd line. A 2nd line player should be a 40-50 pt player.
