Strome and Georgiev are not coming to SJ especially not for this vast overpayment. No.

over the kapanen trade. this isn't a 'vast over payment' at all.

Strome is about as overrated as you can get. Sharks insiders have already confirmed Georgiev isn't on the Sharks radar. it's moot in general.

It's fine if you don't want the players, but that is absolutely fair value...

Have you seen Strome's numbers without Panarin? Go look and tell me this is fair value for an unproven goalie and a forward with horrendous stats away from elite linemates.

Well considering he scored at a 43 point pace his first year with NYR sans Panarin and a 50 point season with the Islanders, it’s not an anomaly. 60 points (w/ Panarin) is not typical Strome nor is 30 point EDM Strome (not bad considering the majority of his 5v5 ice time was with Lucic and Khaira). He is a 45 point, playmaking middle six center. And I disagree the Georgiev is unproven. He may not be an elites starter but he’s a 1B with upside. In fact, his numbers are remarkably similar to one Martin Jones, who netted a 1st. So yes, this is a more then fair trade...

The Kapanen trade along with some of your own GM's recent decisions (not trying to be mean, just honest) proves the belief that most NHL GMs are morons and suck at evaluating talent. That being said, Strome is *as bad* as some people make him out to be. Jesper Fast also played on a line with Panarin this year, and couldn't even hit 30 points (his career-high is 33pts). His shooting % was normal and he wasnt on the loaded 1st PP unit. He was bad on edmonton because he was playing with Lucic and Puljujarvi (look up his with/without metrics there). His bad rap comes from his time on a poorly managed team, and all hes done for a year and a half is produce. I'm not saying the Sharks are going to acquire him, but he's not some garbage player. He's probably a top 60 centers in the league.

And look how the Jones trade is going. Best not to repeat certain histories.
