Not a chance the Hawks do that as Strome is a much better player.

Strome was the #3 pick OA and Roslovic the #25OA. There is a reason for that separation and has gotten larger not closer IMO.

I'm pretty sure hawks value De haan higher, but maybe they would take a 2nd instead of a 3rd with Roslovic but it's definitely a tough trade to value.

I know I could add but Roslovic isn’t nearly as bad as you guys think. They guy would be playing in the top 6 in more than a few nhl teams. The only reason he doesn’t play in WPG is because we have 4 elite wingers ahead of him. He wasn’t ready for top 6 minutes at the beginning of this year but now he is. Imo a 50 pt season next year isn’t out of reach if he has the right linemates and he will only get better.

@ChiHawk proposed Roslovic and the 10 oa for strome. Not to diss strome or anything but no way in hell I even do 10 oa straight up for him. I know the whole kapanen deal is in play but 15 oa was a major overpay and we know that

Strome is worth more more then Kap and that is not close. Yes, Pit overpaid, but even then, Strome is considerably better then Kap, a player that never eclipsed 44 points and is a winger not a center.

I Will take a different angle. I have to admit that trading strome to rid ourselves of A LOT of cap is nice. Strome isn’t a player for the future of hawks. He just isn’t. I didn’t like him when we got him and i really don’t like the intangibles he brings (or doesn’t). He isn’t fast, he’s bad defensively, and he is not a playoff performer. However, what he can do in the regular season with scoring can definitely benefit another team (Wild????). But honestly, I don’t hate the idea for the sake of cap.

I never said kapanen and strome are equal. I said that you can’t base a strome deal or any other deal really on the kapanen one cause that was a royal overpay against market value

I'm not a huge fan of this trade. I like Strome, but also understand his talent is made for a #2C...which he wont be on the Hawks. He's not really made for the #3C role nor the limited minutes than come with that role. The Hawks really dont need Rosy. Id prefer us to find a better trade OR just sign him, play him, and see how it goes. Maybe an actual hockey trade happens in season next year? If MIN is out of if maybe it's a tdl Brodin trade? IDK, but high end defense should be our target. Not a middle 6 winger.

Not a fan of it much at all. Would rather see us maximize our return than use him to dump cap. The only way it would be worth it to me is if it was to make room for a guy like hall or Hoffman

I dont like the idea of muddying stromes value with cap dumps now that we finally we finally have a high value trade piece. Not a lot of young rfas centers are on the chopping block. We can move/buyout smith or trade shaw in a separate deal and get a better return for strome alone or add positive assets and get a really nice piece back. If JR is the main piece coming back from wpg how bout him and a pair of 2nds for strome
