Idk if I would get too upset. Obviously it stings this year, given how dominant you guys were expected to be, but there is no other team set up for future success quite like the avs. Grubauer isnt going to require a huge payday once hes up, Makar and Landeskog are going to require raises, but your current cap space plus what you get from Cole probably leaving is enough to cover that, and then Mackinnon hitting FA at the same time as Johnson isnt quite ideal but I think you could make a reasonable swap for a RD to play behind Makar if Johnson walks. There is gonna be enough money to go around so long as nobody actually WANTS to walk, which I dont see why they would.

Yeah, all reports are that Marchenko is basically off limits. And Graves does nothing for a team already flush with LHD.

I thought the Avs wouldn't have much trouble with Dallas, they really missed Johnson.

Anderson isn’t the answer, but Francouz absolute implosion in key moments says the Avs have to be in the market for an upgrade over him. Considering reports the Coyotes initial offer to Hall is $6.5M and his performance in the playoffs I wouldn’t be in a rush to award him an $8.5M contract.

And Calvert, and Grubauer and evening a healthy Donskoi. But Johnson’s work all season and against AZ on PK is sorely missed. It is literally dumbfounding that this team literally falls asleep for 5 minute stretches Putting themselves in a hole. I guess we will see if they really feel like golfing tomorrow.

I told people goaltending would be a wild card factor for the Avalanche and my hunch is proving to be right. Both are good but Grubaur is inconsistent and injury prone and so is Francouz (minus the injury proneness). Colorado needs a proper starting goalie like Lehner or Anderson to really make an impact

Donskoi!.. Damn I knew when I was watching there was someone missing and it was him, yeah he and Calvert would of made a difference for sure.

Small sample size but Jost was really invisible in the Avs games I've watched.

Maybe they can claw their way back into it, gonna be tough though.

Need some damn goal tending for that to happen.

The Hamburglar stole a game for them in the playoffs 2 yrs ago. I just don’t get my Francouz has imploded the way he has. He has had a serious issue of over playing to side when the puck goes down low and controlling rebounds.
