We have enough forwards disguised as defenceman, can't see them going after an aging Brent Burns

Stop trying to make Burns to the leafs happen. It's not happening under any circumstance.

I can see the argument for not wanting offensive forwards but the 'aging' Brent Burns is a nonissue to anyone who knows anything about freakish athletic beast of a person that is Brent Burns. I guarantee he'll be better than ever after this long layoff for the next few seasons. We just need depth at other positions but this deal is a win-win for both teams.

Half of your posts have to do with getting rid of burns and most of them have you retaining a significant chunk of salary. If hes such a freak just keep him. Not even you believe hell be worth the rest of his contract.

Realistically we could draft a Dman at 15OA and develop him, groom him on the Marlies, and slot him into the Top 4 while a 39 year old brent burns is still making $8M AAV. Please, we don't want him, esp not for that pick lmao. I hope for your sake he continues to produce and San Jose finds success

Dude. I'm not even talking to you. If you hate this idea so much, please, don't hesitate to ignore it...

SJ is a team that, unlike TOR, isn't particularly cap-crunched and can retain on a salary like Burns. Burns is superfluous with the Sharks having EK65 on the right side and at that contract. If they didn't have EK65, trading Burns would not be in the best short-term interest of the Sharks, barring an overpay.

Please do the courtesy of actually taking a look at my proposed roster before critiquing it. He won't be $8mil at 39yrs old -- he'll be making 4mil in this instance.

And thanks. I'm hoping both SJ and TOR find success too.

In my drafting scenario, he was never traded and thus was still making the full $8M on san jose.

I wouldn't take on burns contact at 50% retained if all we gave up was a 7th and it came with Tampas 1st this year. thats how bad the last half of the rest of his deal is going to be.

Someone has to comment on all your attempts to ditch Burns.

I wonder if he's secretly the real Brent Burns trying to speak a trade into existence where he gets to go to a cup contender
