Description

Okay another disappointing year most likely, even though we still have a chance, we have not shown any promise that we could beat the islanders 3 games in a row. Next season, we really need to evaluate our core guys. JVR, Giroux, Voracek and Ghost. I say we give Giroux one more year here to try and win a cup, and if next year we do not make a deeper run, we trade him for picks plus a sniper. JVR is still a 20-25 goal guy on any team, someone will take him but we would need to sweeten the deal. I am also taking seattle into account, it should get interesting. Jake had a good playoff, even though his contract sucks, he played well so he stays.

We will take Sami Niku and a 2rd, let me know if this is 2 much, I feel like ghost is proven in the NHL, he needs a change of scenery and either playing with Morrisey or Pionk will really advance his game.

We need a sniper for the 2nd more goal scoring, I can assume Rakell is the same cost as Kapanen, but we already gave a first, Our first is projected to be in the late 20s. I say this is the deal.

Let me know about this trade, i do not know much about Anaheim, i know they are rebuilding and need younger players and picks RAT is a promising young player who can probably be like a Rakell is a couple years. ANA also gets picks to either shed back contracts or get more prospects.

I don’t think ghost is what the jets need and imo niku is a pretty parallel player so the jets decline

I think Anaheim can probably do a bit better than that for Rakell. Not a ton more, but just something that fill their needs more.

Ratcliffe was a prolific scorer in Jr as an overager, but trading away Rakell for a guy who didn't have much, if any, success in the AHL, plus what is likely a late 2nd and late 3rd just isn't good enough.

IMO, they should be able to get a 1st plus good prospect, and possibly more.

Ghost isn't the type of defenseman Winnipeg needs, so I think the Jets say no.

I’ve made this mistake too but the Seattle Kraken start play the 2021-2022 season. The expansion draft is supposed to be held in June of 2021. You’ll have to hold onto JVR for another year. cheers
