I guess Buffalo doesn’t need a starting goalie.

Buffalo wouldn’t have a goalie. They need Ullmark.

Couldnt Buffalo sign Lehner or Markstrom. Or is that impossible.

I honestly don’t like Ristolainen. I don’t want him as an Oiler.

no Lehner is getting resigned by Vegas, Markstrom by Vancouver, both goalies are win-now, and Buffalo would suck

Buffalo isn’t exactly a free agent destination. Plus Ullmark had a really good year, it’s unfortunate that he got injured in January.

The Oilers non-tendered Puljujärvi and then he chose to come back to them in FA after he had 2 successful years in the NHL?

Did Puuljarvi struggle with substance addiction while with Edmonton and then comment after leaving to a different organization on how the environment was much better for him and instrumental in him getting his life back 9n track and then go back to Edmonton

Here some inside information.
When Murray was with Ottawa knew of Lehner issues and still he traded for him.
Murray did nothing during the two years he was the GM to help Lehner.
https://theathletic.com/522117/2018/09/13/islanders-goalie-robin-lehner-opens-up-about-his-addiction-and-bipolar-diagnosis-i-could-not-stand-being-alone-in-my-brain/
Google what Lehner had to say about "Jason" (Botterill).

BTW I sort of like this trade, I would need to have the picks dropped to satisfy me.

I know he has talked candidly about his relationship with Botts and him appreciating everything he did for him. Botts is gone now so that relationship would likely if anything only hinder Lehner returning here. One of Lehners early interviews after a few games with the Islanders he talked about how great it was to be part of a real organization. As far as the trade I don't mind Riato for Larsson. I think Larsson is probably a better fit for what our d core needs although I would rather move Risto for help up front. As far as Athanasiou I hate the idea of him being on our team even if we can get him without giving up any assets. He plays zero defense and has no hockey sense. He is incredibly fast and has great raw tools but has never developed them and IMO is mostly a liability on the ice.

You are correct about your assessment of the trade.
Right now I am not in favor of trading for any center as I think Cozens is the future there.
Kahun rounds out the top six.
We need a LHD more IMO.
But I am only a casual fan, what do I know.

IDK how you feel about Botterill.
I share my opinions here often.
He buggered up Scandella and made it worse when he trade for Frolik.

O'Reilly had to go, no matter what the sport writers or fans say
He quit on Buffalo and made it clear in his last interview that he did not enjoy Buffalo.
So any thing in return was more than a bucket of pucks.

Krueger was a HUGE error. My source for inside information told me that before the season started.
Look how many players had career worse years playing for him last year.
Nearly a third of the team. Skinner, Montour, Miller, Sheary, Rodrigues, Vesey, Hutton, Okposo.

But, Botterill put together a defense that was one of the better in the league.

If Cozens can blossom into a #2 center than he has a decent top six.

Adams, I do not have any faith in him at all.
I think he will do what ever Kim and Terry tell him to do, and that will lead to the team doing very poorly.

Finally, Lehner's comment about being part of a real organizations speaks volumes about the Pegulas if Lehner only had praise for Botterill.
There is my rant for the day, thanks for listening. LOL
