Yeesh, I get quantity over quality is a thing but that’s a hefty return. Not sure how WPG says no to that, maybe if Chevy is set on it being a top 4 RHD and top C prospect coming back he says no, but idk, drouin slides into the top 6, Domi plays 2c, Mete would be a decent add to play 2or3 LD and Juulsen is an interesting piece. Also the first is cool as well.

Do Montreal fans actually think Suzuki > Laine?

I mean, I think the package you have proposed fits the bill in terms of value. You’re overpaying but that’s what it would take. I just wonder if Chevy values a trade like this with a number of good pieces coming back over a quality trade like a Laine to CAR for Pesce and Necas type deal.

Nothing in that offer makes Winnipeg give it a second glance. Two low end second liners, a bust defenseman, a terrible defenseman and a first doesn't get you a first line winger.

I’m assuming you don’t watch a lot of WPG games....

His 200 ft game has dramatically improved and he has shown he has playmaking abilities. Just look at his stats for the year lol.

As a third party fan that likes both players, I would take Laine over Suzuki every single time, and it's not close. Laine's production more than makes up for the difference in '200 foot game'

Tatar is 30 and a rental. He has zero value in a Laine deal.

Laine’s 2 way game has come along way. He was one of the Jets best backcheckers last year. He has worked very hard at his 200 foot game and it shows. His points suffered but once his complete game rounds out they will come back.

That has to be BY FAR my favorite comment on this website... Two "low end scorers" whom would easily fill out WPG's top 6, a "bust" defenseman that has been often injured yes but has top 6 potential, and a 4th round "terrible" defenseman who actually plays D, and has been on the top pairing for many parts of the past 2 seasons. But yessssss, Chevy wldn't give it a second glance 😂

Oh, and not to mention, the 16th OA. Man you've gotta be the biggest 🤡 on here lol

For now yes, we'll see 2-3 years down the line - for his first year... it was pretty great.

If it wasn't even close, we wouldn't be having this conversation AIR? Top C over top winger most GM's always say smile
