Breaking down that package for Arvidsson --
- Ghost is unnecessary on NSH. They need defensive defenseman over and offensive D like him. So he really doesn't add any value to this deal, he subtracts value because of his contract cap hit and term.
- Twarynski may turn into a fine depth player, but I don't see him being more than that.
- O'Brien was a former 1st rounder, but he's taken a weird trajectory in his career -- played in the NCAA and was terrible and then went to Junior A to build confidence and played well. Now he's moving to BU this year and we'll see how he fares this time. I don't dislike him, but he is still a big question mark.
- 2021 1st round pick -- this will likely be a late 1st rounder.

All in all, I don't this PHI package as being an enticing enough offer for NSH to consider trading Arvidsson. An unnecessary defenseman/cap dump, a depth player, a questionable former 1st round pick, a late 1st. I just don't see it.

I don't think Phiily would take on Wennberg to trade him and retain on him

So basically we're trading Jake for a 2nd, 4th, 5th, and Bemstrom? I think if we are acquiring Arvidsson, we need to keep Jake for the talent we have now. I would try and trade JVR to be honest to get the cap correct, but would pass on this trade for Jake, just not enough value coming back for someone who has seemed to turn it on playing with Coots on a regular basis over the last several months.

It kinda is like the Subban trade. Can't get full value unless you retain. Bemstrom is an appealing prospect, and this clears the cap room for other assets.
