FLA trade works in theory, but they also scored a lot but didn't defend well. I'd imagine that they wouldn't trade Ekblad for anything short of an unfair overpay

Also this won't be sustainable. Not having quality ELC players come in through the draft would be the downfall of this team in 2/3/4 years

I can tell you right now a deal including Petry will not work we are thin on the right side and Petry is our best D man. Domi + for Nylander would be the ask. Not sure if a deal could be worked out with that as a base though.

No honestly the base I put forward would pretty much be the only somewhat reasonable deal I'd do with MTL getting Nylander. There are plenty of RHD in FA that I'm sure could plug the hole, it's just that Leafs would need Petry retained because we have no money.

I understand that sentiment from an MTL perspective, but that's just the need we have. Something like Nylander + Dermott + pick for Domi + Petry (50%)

Also Dermott has no value to the Habs because we have too many LHD like the leafs

I honestly would want Sandin or Robertson in that deal with Montreal, and I know TOR fans would not do it. Beside those two, and Liljegren being involved in another trade, I don't think there is another core piece that could fetch Domi And Petry.

Agreed that the Leafs have not offered enough in this deal, but Sandin and Robertson are off the table. Future projected top line winger or top pair D just isn't happening. That's like if a team asked you to trade Romanov or (no comparable F in your prospect pool). Both are virtually untouchable

Robertson is much better than Caufield imo, but I suppose they are somewhat comparable. Robertson will be playing in the NHL next year, I doubt Caufield will be on the Habs

I think Caufield and Robertson are highly comparable and will have similar career.

I think Robertson looked much better than Caufield this year but they could very well end up similar. Similar style, age, size, etc. for sure
