Vegas needs cap space to sign Lehner and the Blues need cap space to sign Pietrangelo, obviously both guys would need to waive for Winnipeg for this to happen, idk if they would but Stastny did it once already and Bozak is from down the highway in Regina so maybe he would, they'd both be given significant roles with plenty of ice time on a competitive team so maybe they'd consider it.
So why trade for these two, well they should be cheaper to acquire then a long term solution and they're both improvements over junk like Copp, Eakin and Lowry.. Lol.. Also see these two as having the ability to move up the lineup if needed, Copp is fine at 3C but I don't want him at 2C ever and they can't be moving Wheeler to center long term anymore, they need better center depth, just adding a 2C isn't enough imo.
I also don't think just adding a 2C and a couple dmen will be enough to make the Jets a contender so adding these two would keep them competitive while not giving major assets for a 2C, I also question if there's even a 2C out there to be acquired, like really what team is trading their 2nd line center? It just doesn't happen that often and this offseasons list of free agent centers is almost empty so that's not really an option for a long term 2C so in turn acquire a couple veterans on the cheap and draft the best center available at 10th overall and hope that kid is ready sooner then later. I consider Stastny basically a cap dump hence Vegas giving some picks here and getting almost nothing back.
Would also swap Bozak and Roslo around in some games and have Bozak mentor Roslovic at center, still believe Roslovic can be a center if the Jets coach would give him a chance, he played better at center this season then on the wing, the 2015 line was good Maurice, why'd ya break it up!!
Demoted Perreault, sucks to do but he'd cost too much to dump and he could be called up if an injury happens.
This post assumes Little is going on LTIR which unfortunately seems like a certainty at this point, best of luck to Little with whatever he decides, he was a solid contributor to this team for a lot of years and was really missed this season.
Doubt the Islanders would trade Pulock but it'd take a Connor to get him.
Think the Jets need some size in their bottom 6 and on defense which is why I signed Maroon, Martin, Edmunson and brought back Sbisa, think they need someone who can drop the gloves as well which is where Martin comes in, Sbisa and Lowry can chuck the knuckles as well!
Lowry should play the wing, he's way too slow to play center.
Morrissey and Pionk need bigger D partners and Pulock and Edmunson are that, need some bigger dmen for playoff hockey, period. That 3rd pair should be fine, Sbisa played quite well for the Jets when he wasn't stuck with Bitetto..Lol.. and Poolman is another year experienced.
The backup goalie spot is a risk with Comrie in there but he's been with the team a long time, has been a loyal soldier who deserves a chance to see what he can do, if he isn't getting it done perhaps a trade can be looked at or Berdin gets a callup from the Moose to see how he does, he's probably due for a look at the NHL level anyway so that might be the best option if Comrie doesn't work out.
Tight for cap space and one less spare forward but I'm sure they could make that work, Jets farm team is in Winnipeg as well so that helps getting a body quick if needed.
Tried to build a more balanced lineup with some more size throughout and also added some much needed veteran presence.
So what say you CapFriendly critics, is this a better Jets team or worse, fair trades or not? Let me know in the comments but let's try to keep them constructive, thanks!
While the Jets look to improve on the blue line, I don’t think that Kyle Connor trade is fair value tbh. The trade tbh screams highway robbery for them. I also don’t think Ryan Pulock is worth $6 million at this point. Maybe if he can be consistent for another year or so, then maybe he’s worth $6 mil. Otherwise, I do think there’s more that needs to be added to that trade.

Interesting, when I posted this trade before and added a single 7th round pick from the Islanders one of their fans on here said they didn't need to add even that... Lol
The offer isn't terrible, but I think the Blues might prefer to wait for a better one so they don;t have to add Bozak to your team.
Yeah that's likely, can see GM's trying to ship guys out of conference, depends who's interested though and who actually has the cap space, not a lot of teams with much room to work with, guess the Tarasenko injury buys Armstrong some time though.
