Well the Flyers get a good centre in Backlund to play behind Giroux and Couturier. This would give Philly a lot of depth at centre. In Jokipakka you have a younger, cheaper (and probably better) version of Del Zotto, plus you add in Shinkaruk who can compete. Not to mention a second rounder.

We do not need a 3C, we have cousins and maybe even konecny. From what I have seen in the WCH from Jokipakka, he is awful.

Simmonds is not being traded, he does way too much for the Flyera and Gudas is our ONLY RHD.

No. HELL no. That Hartnell trade is absolutely not happening. Wideman has absolutely no value to us while Hartnell is still a productive player and very useful mentor - he's likely to be on the protection list regardless of his NMC.

I do agree that we could get more for Hartnell but he will not and should not be on our protection list over guys like karlsson, Atkinson, or Wennberg. Maybe wideman, wotherspoon, and a 4th for Hartnell

Atkinson, sure. Wennberg, absolutely. But Karlsson? Don't be absurd.

Actually Karlsson has developed considerably in 2 years, and still has a big upside. He plays strong on the puck, is very solid in both ends of the ice, has great hands and vision, , and can both score and pass the puck. I can envision a strong center lineup with Dubois, wennberg and karlsson down the road.

Yes, Karlsson has improved a great deal. He's also a #3C and can be replaced trivially. That's less true of Hartnell's combination of production and proven mentoring ability.

Don't get me wrong, I love what Hartnell is doing, and i don't want him traded. I have been saying all along to the Haters that Hartsy has 109 points in the last 2 years on a line with rookies and sophomores. This will be a fun year when they clean house of the likes of Campbell and Clarkson and we see some Fast & skilled rookies playing up this year.

As for the comment above, i don't get caught up on the line # that is played. With future talent such as Dubois, karlsson and Wennberg, when they are fully developed,I envision them being interchangeable and the team rolling 4 solid 2-way lines like many teams are doing now.

I don't think Karlsson belongs in the same conversation as Wennberg and Dubois. He had all of 20 points last season. 20! And he's never been a high-scoring player at any level. He's helpful and a credit to the team, sure, but he has no business being put in a scoring role.
