mcdavid, price and weber, doughty and kopitar, or toews and kane are the only ways to get crosby

Even if technically the trade value is fair I still wouldn't do it if I were the Pens. Its not even about value anymore when your talking about superstars like Crosby. Even if some team offered 10 1st rounders for Mario Lemieux at age 20, I'd still not do it. Even if it would defy logic. I'd rather keep Crosby just out of spite that no one else could have him except for me than to trade him.

That's why these fantasy trades for superstars like Crosby, etc can never be plausible and will forever just be for fun but without any substance.

Agreed. The merchandising and franchise value is too great. Ironically Boston traded away probably the 2 biggest since the blockbuster Gretzky trade...Thornton and Seguin.
