Andersen is a one-year rental who is only owed 1M, so he will be very valuable to cash strapped teams.

That has nothing to do with my opinion of the trade.

Stud and Vaak are like the bruins only two decent prospects, so like a top 6 RW (bruins woiuld obviously throw in a bit more, but it starts with a top 6 RW)

They are right now, but several teams have already said that they plan on spending less next year - in the 70 - 75M range. I don't know if Carolina is one of those teams, but those teams won't care about the cap hit and for them a 5M cap hit player who only costs 1M will be very coveted. If they could trade a 5M cap hit 5M cash player for a 5M cap hit 1M cash player that is a huge benefit for them.

I have no idea where Carolina is going to want to spend next year.

No idea. Obviously if Toronto got Hamilton they would want him re-signed right away. I think for any team that gets Andersen they will not want to re-sign him right away. They will want to see the state of revenue generation over the next year first.

Yes, I know, but my point is his value won’t be crazy. If the second was a first, then I think that trade is fair.

That has zero to do with it. The Pens are also in win now mode and they plan to spend in the low 70s - after spending to the cap this year (and actually spending 93M in salaries). Revenues are going to be in the tank and there are not endless piles of money sitting around. That is one of the reasons they wanted Kapanen. He costs 1.8M and his cap is 3.2M. So what Carolina is going to spend depends on what the ownership group says. You are living in a fantasy world if you don't think that player salaries are going to be a major factor for a lot of teams this year.

This is a fantasy world with a fantasy trade. 5.75 for a top 5 D in the league is amazing and Carolina will not trade him for a 5 million dollar terrible goalie.

I said from the start that my comments had nothing to do with the trade in the question and you absolutely knew that. Our conversation had nothing to do with the trade and you knew that too. You are a completely dishonest poster and I will not waste my time communicating with completely dishonest people.
