That Oilers trade makes no sense.
Ken Holland is on record stating he is looking for a young NHL player under team control for a while...Tatar will be 30-years-old in December and his contract expires at the end of next season. Edmonton already has Josh Archibald, and the option of bringing Tyler Ennis back; they don't need to add Jordan Weal or Mathieu Perreault and increase their compliment of under-sized bottom six forwards. The most obvious reason why this makes no sense though is the cap implication. No way Holland can afford to take on 3 NHL contracts in exchange for one NHL contract and an unsigned RFA. If Montreal wants Chiasson, give up a draft pick. If Montreal also wants Puljujarvi, be ready to offer a player with similar potential, and quite possibly a draft pick as well.
