I like Larsson but trading yet another young player with RFA control for a rental is just a bad idea for Winnipeg.

Umm, 'ya... how long are the Jets going to build? What makes DeMelo a top line D, earning North of $3M? Adding Larsson, sure... but not for Rosco straight-up and for a piece that doesn't fix the Defense at all. Plus, adding all that youth would be a MAJOR step backwards next season. I would sooner keep and sign Rosco, bury Vesalainen in the Moose another season (or two), given his slow development and/or trade him to the Oilers for Larsson (plus a prospect and pick). One thing for sure... he is not ready for a second line role on the Jets -- he under-performed in that role (with the Moose) last season. LB will get more than a $1M, 2 year deal. Lastly... Perreault, other than the nice car he drives, why?

K so every capfriendly Jets team made in the last 6 months has DeMelo signing for at least 3M, and he most recently played top pair with Morrissey so gtfo. By “all that youth” you mean Samberg, Gus, and Vesa? I agree Vesa has been slow to develop, but I think if they don’t give him a chance he will never develop. Maybe they make a trade partway through the season for a top9 guy, but I just wanted to see what it would look like to not sign any big names. What about Perreault? Nobody will want his contract with the flat cap, but it isn’t bad enough to buy out, and they don’t need the space enough to pay someone to dump him.

DeMelo has sniffed the NHL for 6 years... 6 years... 3 teams... just shy of 300 games played. NEVER has he been a top 6 D (on a contender)... he has 10 points, per season. Sure, he's a decent player, but he is NOT a first line D. We'll agree to disagree on the development comments as well because I'd like to see another serious run with the existing core. All your rookies and 4th line superstars are not the answer. As much as I like MP for a player with grit and grind, and tenaciouness on the puck, he really isn't a play-maker or a scorer. $4M for a fourth-liner that can be a plug is a lot too steep, so Chevy should offer him up and/or (given the cap crunch most teams will be facing this season), cut him loose. Just my two cents... but to be told to get the f'out for opinion is a tad much. Remember, it's a game that we all love and a team we want to see succeed.

Yeah didn’t mean to sound rude. But if I payed him any less I’d have comments saying he’d make more. And that’s literally where Maurice had him in the lineup so I don’t know what to tell ya
