Well that’s not exactly a simple question. I’m an oilers fan and would rather fox simple because can’t afford Mathews. Not willing to create the space. No doubt Mathews is the better and more value able player but if your thinking about adding to your favourite team out of all fairness fox is a very attractive option that doesn’t require a lot of finical hurdles.

If you watch him closely you can see just how effective he is defensively. He's so good with his stick and with positioning. Leads the league in even strength goals since he came into the league, and lead all C's in goals, was one off from the Rocket. I don't see the argument for fox being more valuable

if you watch him closely he's very good positionally and with his stick. Best even strength goal scorer in the league. Was one off from the rocket, no center scored more than him. Fox isn't even the best rookie in his class. Makar and Hughes both have a leg up on him, and I wouldn't trade Matthews for either of them

that's not what I meant. I meant in terms of value, not about favourite teams. I made this kinda flustered as to how anyone could think he's better. But I meant value, not added to your team

Well if ask who would you rather have kinda go straight to thinking for your team. I wouldn’t want just one of them and try to compete against a 23 man roster....

As someone who legitimately things Fox should be the runner-up for the Calder (after Makar) and who is exhausted by Auston Matthews, teams win Stanley Cups with shaky d-cores all the time. You need an elite center, and that is one. If I'm building a team, give me Matthews.

over half are admittedly trolling, trying to stir something up, misinterpreted it as "who would you want for your favourite team" and their team needs an RHD badly, or hate the leafs if you read through some of the comments.

I dotn even get how this argument started? Did someone make a Fox for Matthews trade and someone said they need to add value for Fox. Obviously Matthews is the better player, but when you look at teams around the league I think it's harder to find a young RHD with upside in comparison to Centers. I can name tons of teams that need help on the Right side of defense and i would imagine that list out values teams who need an elite center is much smaller.

there are 2 players in the NHL right now that i would take 1 for 1 for matthews, mackinnon and mcdavid, those teams probably wouldnt do it, but if its 1 for 1 those are the only 2 guys id consider
