Serg and Charlie would be a great pairing. But serg is close to Charlie level so the trade would not happen. Would you take Cernak and a first for Charlie? Of course not.

sergachez is 75 % of Charlie imo. Charlie is a game-breaker. But you're comparison with cernak is totally right

Serg has come a long way this year. By next year they are equal and serg has no concussions issues. He has gained toughness. Did you know he took on and held his own against s Weber? This playoffs playing as much time as hedman and McDonah.

You say that as if Mcavoy isnt the same age and will also get better. Once hes not tied down to Chara hes gonna have a big uptick in points. Sergachev is way more sheltered with Hedman and McDonagh getting the tougher F matchups. Sergachev is still very good, just McAvoys better

You are correct Serg was very sheltered the first two years. It all came together for him around December. He now plays about 21 minutes in all situations. I do think offensively the edge goes to him, defensively the edge goes to Charlie. Charlie did something very rare, he walked in and was impactful from day one. I just think they are on the same level now giving a small edge to Charlie because he is a right shot.

I think I saw a stat where Sergachev was within the top 4 most sheltered dmen over the past 3 years in terms of offensive zone starts. I wanna say Krug, Dunn and Barrie were the ones ahead of him. Again still is a great defenseman only getting better, but no question Mcavoy is superior
