I might make this a series going over every team, it would be a nice learning experience to gain insight on every team, Might as well start where I have the most knowledge with my favourite team. I want to look at every teams: Notable UFA/RFAs, Team needs, Potential FA targets, Potential Trade Targets, Internal Solutions if applicable, Top Prospects, Draft outlook, and next seasons outlook
Notable UFAs (AAV, Age, Position, Role on team):
Michael Del Zotto (750k, 30, LD, Bottom pair/7th D)
Matt Irwin (675K, 32, RD, 7thD/Depth)
Ryan Miller (1.125M, 40, G, Back-up)
Patrick Eaves (3.15M, 36, W, LTIR)
All notable RFAs have been signed
Team Needs: RHD, RW, Back Up Goalie
Potential FA Targets (Broken down by above needs) (AAV, Age, Role on team):
RHD:
Tyson Barrie (5.5M, 29, Top 4 D) Could find himself in a Jake Gardiner esque situation of limited suitors, ANA has the potential to offer him top pair and PP1 minutes as well.
Sami Vatanen (4.875M, 29, Top 4 D) Could be a very nice stop gap in what I feel will be an even more limited market than Barrie, could be attracted to the familiarity on a short term deal.
Dylan DeMelo (900k, 27, Top 4 D) I feel he will be highly sought after and likely will not want to go to a rebuild, He should have his pick of contending teams to choose from imo
Cody Ceci (4.5M, 26, Bottom 4 D) Could be a cheap option to fill in if Manson/Gudbranson get moved, potential to flip at the deadline
Mark Pysyk (2.7M, 28, Bottom 4 D) Actually an intriguing option for the Ducks imo, has experience playing RD and RW so his flexibility could be fully utilized in ANA
RW:
Tyler Toffoli (4.6M, 28, Top 6 W) Likely will sign with a contender but if he wants to go back to Cali ANA may be his best chance at that
Vlad Namestikov (4M, 27, Mid 6 W) Could be attracted by the potential top 6 minutes in ANA to boost his stock on a 1-2 year deal
Jesper Fast (1.85M, 28, Mid 6 W) Would be a great guy to bring in and help out a young forward group, wouldn't put up the most points but I value his leadership
Corey Perry (1.5M, 35, Bottom 6 W) Would be awkward due to the fact we're still on the hook for 6.6M for him but he would fit on the roster
Back up G - Ryan Miller (1.125M, 40), Louis Domingue (1.15M, 28), Michael Huctinson (700k, 30), Laurent Brossoit (1.225M, 27)
Potential Trade Targets (Would be my top options, no order, not the only options) (Broken down by above needs) (Contract Status, Age, Role on team)
RHD:
Tony DeAngelo (RFA, 24, Top 4 D) Price would probably be too high to make sense for ANA to do, but worth looking into at the very least.
Rasmus Ristolainen (2 years 5.4M AAV, 25, Top 4 D) Something built around Risto for Rico/Silf could be interesting, seems like a very good trade fit
Dougie Hamilton (1 Year 5.75M, 27 Top 2 D) More of a fantasy than reality here but I would love to be able to add him
Troy Stetcher (RFA, 26, Top 4 D) Could be in a package with Virtanen and Sutter to help Van's cap situation would make sense for both teams imo
MacKenzie Weegar (RFA, 26, Top 4 D) If the rumours of cutting cap in FLA are true and they want to keep Hoffman/Dadonov I could see Weegar being on the block, Perhaps something built around Larsson/Guhle
RW:
Jake Virtanen (RFA, 24, Mid Six W) Mentioned above a potential package deal, Virtanen has supposedly worn out his welcome in VAN (take that with a grain of salt though)
Connor Garland/Christain Fischer/Vinnie Hinostroza (Grouping together for sake of saving space) (RFA, 24/23/26, Mid Six W) If ARI wants to keep Hall they need to move some pieces around, some nice options that would fit very well in ANA whether or not any of these guys would be available is questionable though.
Josh Anderson (RFA, 26, Top 6 W) Trade rumors have been following him around for a while now, he would fit very nicely in SoCal
Nikolaj Ehlers (5 Years 6M AAV, 24, Top 6 W) More of a fantasy again as I dont think WPG should move him, if he is available ANA should definetly check in
Back up G - None worth Trading for imo
Internal Solutions:
Back up G - Anthony Stolarz
Top Prospects (Can go more in-depth in the comments)
1. Trevor Zegras C - Potentially the top prospect in all of the NHL, seems to have all the makings of an elite #1C
2. Maxime Comtois LW/C - Top 6 LW with great intangibles
3. Henry Thurn LD - Great Freshman Year at Harvard, looking like a steal already
4. Brayden Tracey LW - More of a project but has top 6 upside
5. Josh Mahura LD - Blocked by our LHD depth atm but has 2nd pairing upside
Draft Outlook (Players not in order of preference, just top potentially available fits)
6OA - Jamie Drysdale (RHD), Cole Perfetti (C/LW), Lucas Raymond (RW), Marco Rossi (C), Alex Holtz (RW)
27OA (Via BOS) - Helge Grans (RHD), Jacob Perreault (C), Rodion Amirov (LW), Mavrik Borque (C), Lukas Reichel (F)
36 OA - Marat Khusnutdinov (C), J.J Peterka (F), Topi Niemela (RHD), Jean-Luc Foudy (C)
Next Seasons Outlook
Should see improvement over last year as long as the blue line stays healthy, Hopeful step forwards from the young guys (Steel, Jones, Terry, Comtois, etc...). Still not a playoff team in my eyes
Yeah same here, Figured it would be fun to look at all the options that make sense imo. I'm hopeful they at least look into things
All we should care about is 3 things.
1. Getz getting 1000 pts
2. Player development
3. Fulfilling expansion requirements which is quite easy
Id love to sign Barrie or have Zegras get more than 9 games I just think its improbable. Honestly, I'm already looking past this season in a way. Im worried about who we are gonna lose in the expansion. Nevertheless, another good post.

Yeah this was all in fun and boredom ahah, I’m with you on those 3 things being priorities I figured the FA signings are dependant on moving out our vets (Manson, Rico, Silf) I’m expecting a quiet offseason though
Don’t be surprised if he spends most of it in SD. I think he struggled to start the season at BU iirc. Plus the slide could be nice since they won’t be contenders next year.
They should be. They’ll have a ton of cap next offseason. Just wait til then unless something big they can’t pass up comes along.

Pretty well done write up, completely agree with most of it. I think Vatanen or Barrie make way too much sense for us, but not sure if Bob will pull the trigger. It'd have to be short term though so we don't have to worry about expansion protection. Part of me wants to get sendy and just take a swing at a Nylander or Laine, but that's probably not the responsible thing to do. I think we need to move one of Larsson/Guhle and maybe one of the LW prospects to clear things up a bit.

Yeah we should pretty much stand pat until after the expansion draft imo, unless its moving out vets for good young expansion exempt pieces
