Definitely not the Caps trade I was expecting but as a Caps fan I'd probably accept.

1- Washington won’t retain salary
2- Winnipeg loses that trade badly
3- Granlund isn’t a top 6 C in the NHL

That's a terrible trade for the Jets.

Also is that defense ever tiny, it'd get crushed in the playoffs.

Here's an idea though since he or she signed Haula as well. 1st line is all speed: Connor, Scheifele, Ehlers
2nd line is the Finn line: Laine, Haula, Granlund
3rd line is a bit of everything line: Harkins, Copp, Wheeler.. 4th line is a grind line: Panik, Lowry, Apples

Caps would be foolish not to accept trade. I put it in as I don't see Rosco and Ves fitting long term and for the dollars expected. Yes, upside is great... but to date they haven't contributed enough to resign or be an add to the roster. If Chevy wants to give the core a chance next year, he needs to shuffle. Granlund is small, but has speed needed to complement Nik and skill to set-up Patty.

Yeah and the Jets would be foolish to make it, I like Panik but the Caps are surely regretting that signing.
Kempny would be a nice addition but he could probably be added for a 2nd round or later pick, zero reason to give away young cost controlled assets for Kempny and/or Panik.
