Preferred Cap Priorities

Description
If the Blues are going to trade cap to clean up their mess, these are the priorities that I'd like to see. Read from left to right. If they reach the 'don't do it' column, they should probably just let Petro walk - his short-and-long-term cap implications will end up making the team worse over the course of the contract IMO.

FWIW I don't think Bozak or Allen would take sweeteners, but they won't really return anything but a late pick. I don't think Steen will waive his full NTC - his buyout would save about 2.35m. (Obviously you don't trade both goalies)

Do you think your fav team would take any of these guys, and what would the trade look like?

Blues fans, how would you change these columns?

I agree with all of these, I'd even consider moving Schwartz into that "do it for the right price" category if we get another LW to replace him, depending on if we feel like he's going to be a part of the core moving forward. He could be pricey to retain and would probably fetch a good amount in a trade.

Yeah, I think before the deadline they'll have to see if anyone internally has taken a step forward, and if they can get a solid return (1st + good prospect) for Schwartz they'd have to consider moving him. In this offseason, it would take a bigger return than that IMO just because I don't feel confident about replacing what he brings.

I’d even do Parayko if you can potentially get a player who can replace Tarasenko’s long-term value. Like if you can get pick 6/7/8 from one of those teams + you consider it. It’ll be tough to sign him in two years unless they miraculously get out of the Faulk contract.

Still, trading Parayko would be far from ideal.

True, tbh my column headings are flawed - no one is truly untouchable except ROR and Thomas. I guess the "don't do it" column should actually read "for the perfect return", and getting a massive haul for those other guys would release them.
