COL decline, theyve got 2 goalies already under contract for next year at lesser cap hits than what Murray is after

yeah clearly that's the reason that trade will never happen. It has nothing at all to do with the fact that it's a massive underpay for Murray but because COL has 2 goalies.

the penguins won't resign Grant.
He wasn't good enough to play for them the 1st time he was here, why would they sign him now.

Another solid player chased out the organization. Hell it's not like he ever got more than league minimum his whole career. But you know, he wasn't good enough.
Good job Sully.

considering jake allen just was moved for a 3rd coming off a solid season and Muray is coming off a hot garbage one...where is the massive underpay? Maybe some realism is setting in that Murray is going to net 1st round picks or top prospects or roster players

who wants a sub .900 goalie last season and is asking for 6m aav...not many teams

you mean Pittsburgh fans trading him away or leaf fans who are desperate to have another goalie after Freddie has failed them 4 years in a row, thats it

are you matt murray or something? You are sure a pissy one.
what actually NHL team or GM wants murray....your response well idiots on the internet do so suck it like that proves anything?

easy to see what im doing...being realistic when it comes to goalie trades and their returns especially in an off season that goalies are readily available?

The issue with acquiring Murray is that he's going to expecting to get paid, and to get term, which has to be a factor. A 3rd round pick is on the low side, but I don't foresee anyone paying a 1st for him either. Something in line with what Grubauer got from Colorado (2nd + Orpik buyout) would make sense, like a 2nd + prospect or something like that.

I hate to break it to you, but GM value players differently than you.
I mean really the irony here is you up a 2nd round pick and took a cap dump for a guy who spent his whole career to that point as a backup. But don't think a guy who's won 2 cups will get more.

Look at the season that Grubauer had when he was traded and look at the season that Murray just had and is asking Double what he should be asking for. And 6m is just a low estimate, there is rumours he is asking for 8m aav which is delusional by him

You think your posts through first before you start posing emotional fan boy responses bc people dont value your players as over valued as you do

yeah look at that season. On a stacked Cup winning team with great defense in front of him.

FFS Murray won a cup with Ron Hainsey as his 1st pairing defense man.
Last year two years he's had JJ and Shultz in front of him while he tried standing on his head.

so matt murray is only as good as the D core in front of him...oh I guess hes not that good then. Sorry but that is the laziest narrative someone can try to make a straw man argument with. Blame the D when the goalie is playing poorly bc you dont want to accept he isnt playing well either.

What he did multiple seasons ago is irrelevant right now, who is matt murray right now and he is a below average starter last season. You cant sugar coat the reality of it. He wasnt very good and its a major gamble hoping he bounces back to whatever team he plays for next year.

I have always thought the most avs should give up if they were interested in Murray was a 2nd and a conditional 3rd round pick. not messing around with him comign off an awful season and asking for 6-8m aav range on his next deal

look at your backwards narrative. You realize how well he played at the beginning of the season when his 1 LD wasn't JJ?
You realize 60+% of the playoff goals were with JJ and Schultz on the ice.

Are you high?
blind?
just not capable of basic logic?

Yeah it does matter who is in front of you. I don't care who the goalie is. When the defensive pairings are that bad, it matters.
