Description
The Hurricanes are on the right path for contention and next year they could take another step in the right direction. There's excellent goalies hitting free agency or on the trade block. I know there's that rumor with Andersen. I think he would be plan B, if plan A signs with another team. Plan A is either Lehner or Holtby. Lehner will probably resign in Vegas and Carolina as been interested in Holtby for a while. Yes his numbers have declined drastically since winning the cup, but he would still be a upgrade from Mrazek or Reimer. I think they could get him for something a little less then he's making right now. Then they would have 3 goalies so they,ll trade one of Reimer or Mrazek. I think the latter gets trade and I think he's gonna return in Detroit. He could be a second option next to Bernier and Wings have space for him. Carolina could also send Fleury to Detroit in order to get Detroit attention. Fleury was once view as a good prospect and make a change of scenary could help him. He's still a young player and Detroit could use a little help on defense. That move would allow Bean to become a regular on the lineup. Besides those I Don't see much change in Carolina. This team as already the tools to be a good team add in a good goaltender and Carolina could become a dangerous team next season. They're well balanced, Don't have a big contract they can't get rid off and Don't seem to have a weakness at least on paper.

You don’t use Fleury to move Mrazek

Adding Holtby makes us worse, not better

Hard disagree with both moves, I think they make the canes a worse team. I want absolutely nothing to do with holtby, he has had three seasons of regression. While he had a good playoff run people even forget that holtby didn’t even start the playoffs when the caps won the cup. Also trading fleury to dump Mrazek is a huge mistake. Fleury has finally started to show his potential, using him for a cap dump makes the canes worse
