Description

Parayko is someone that the Blues might have to consider moving this off-season. The Blues get Sandin, who can play bottom-pair minutes for them and projects to be a top 4 defenceman in the future. They also get the 15th pick in this year's deep draft class. Also, Kerfoot is a cheaper option for Bozak, who will likely be traded because of his cap hit.

Simmonds, Brassard and Maroon are added to give the bottom six a different look. Simmonds bounced around and dealt with injuries the last couple of years and I can see him taking the route Tyler Ennis took a few years ago where he took a cheap, one-year deal and spent the offseason with the Leafs sports science staff to get him back to full health.

Very easy no from the Blues.

The 23 minutes a game that Parayko provides at $5.5m is far more valuable than the 15 minutes that Kerfoot provides at $3.5m.

The futures are nice, but the Blues window to win is now. No point moving a player like Parayko to save $2m in cap and add a third liner.

The Parayko trade rumors are a pipe dream. He won't be available for a trade until his last year of his contract and that's if they can't afford to resign him. But they've got 2 seasons, and an expansion draft to figure that out.
