Description
I stole the Murray for Dermott trade from a Toronto fan on here. I took the contract amount for Dermott from a Toronto fan on HFboards. I stole the basics of the buffalo trade from a Buffalo fan. I updated the 3rd and 5th that they had coming from Pitt to a 1st and 2nd in order to get JJ out the door and make the cap/positions work. Edit: I took out ZAR and the 1st and replaced it with McCann as he seems to be a want/need for Buffalo. Edit#2: Trying to make this Buffalo trade for both sides. I don't know if Minnie is the team to send Bjugstad to, but I think JR should be able to find someone to take him for a 4th or a 5th. Finally, I know that this doesn't leave a lot of cap space left, but it does upgrade the D and it leaves the team with a 13th forward (one that can basically slot in on any line 1-4) and 2 spare D

Then we remove the first and ZAR. Would you still do that?

I think we could make that work. The Pens would then have to find a 3rd line centre, but McCann probably wasn't going to be the best in that spot anyways

How about this edit?

Lafferty is a bit of a downgrade at 3C to McCann, but JR could try to address this mid season

McCann for Risto would be fair, to dump JJ you have to sweeten the pot alot more than a 2nd

I'm trying to be flexible, I could put ZAR back in, if that makes it more comfortable for you. Or I could change the 2nd to a 1st, but I think Buffalo would likely need to upgrade the 4th to a 3rd. Thoughts?

Thanks for your input, but a couple of your fellow Sabres fans seem to think that with the right sweetener it is a possibility.

GM JR may have lost his mind but if he trades his 2022 first round already hell loose his job. That would be 3 consecutive years with out first rounds.

He's only had 2 1st round picks since being in Pittsburgh... Kappy and Poulin. I don't like leaving the cupboard bare, but JR doesn't care, he just wants cups.

Is this the final offer:
PIT
Ristolainen, Rasmus = 2022 1st round pick (PIT)
2022 3rd round pick (BUF) = 2020 3rd round pick (PIT)
cap dump = McCann, Jared - Johnson, Jack

That fills two of Buffalo's holes, center and LHD.
While neither McCann, Jared - Johnson, Jack are perfect fits, it is more than Buffalo has at those positions.
BTW, what was the first trade posted?
I did not see it.

The first trade was Risto and 4th for ZAR, JJ and a 1st and 2nd

This isn't fun for Minnesota. Pittsburgh should be the ones paying someone to take Bjugstad.

Just don't see how we can sign all of our rfa this year and next. And add to build up a competitive team with okposo and Johnson.
Is there a trade that makes sense value wise.. sure.
But logistically no
