Trades
1.
NSH
  1. Dermott, Travis [RFA Rights]
  2. Nylander, William
  3. 2020 4th round pick (VGK)
Additional Details:
Might need to add more? Nashville gets a top pairing winger with term, and a decent Dman that needs to be signed in Dermott and a 4th pick throw-in.
2.
TOR
  1. DeBrincat, Alex
Additional Details:
Leafs get their Nylander replacement. DeBrincat had a nutty 2nd season, but had a down year this past season. Risky but I think he's gross.
CHI
  1. Bracco, Jeremy [RFA Rights]
  2. Johnsson, Andreas
  3. Rosén, Calle
  4. 2020 1st round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
I doubt Chicago even thinks about trading the Cat but who knows. They're kind of rebuilding? 15 OA pick with Pitt's 1st rd in a strong draft, a good 40pt winger in Johnsson with some term and a bottom pairing D in Rosen. Throw in Jeremy Bracco who has no chance of breaking through TOR's wingers, but has a little bit of offensive upside.
3.
TOR
  1. 2021 3rd round pick (WPG)
Additional Details:
Purely for cap space
WPG
  1. Holl, Justin
Additional Details:
This could be any team, and a 3rd is probably too high but WPG doesn't have any 4th rd picks. WPG lost a lot of their D last season, maybe they can use Holl.

That's a huge overpay for Ellis and then you probably underpay for Debrincat. Also the best player moved in any of these trades is Nylander. Or at least the most valuable. He's 24 just entering his prime and is an elite offensive player. Ellis is turning 30 and is signed through to age 37. He will not be good throughout his contract.

LMAO not a chance this gets you Cat. And it has been said a million times over, Chicago has no interest in Johnsson at anything close to his $3.4M cap hit...whether that is part of a package for Debrincat, Murphy, or anyone else.

And to say Chicago is rebuilding (they aren't they are retooling) as justification then suggesting they give up a 22 year old A quality player just seems counterintuitive...no?

LOL so if Chicago is "They're kind of rebuilding" Why would they trade away one of their great young players for a bag of pucks. 40 goals >>>>>>>>>>> Pile of crap

Rebuilding, retooling, whatever they're doing. 15 overall pick in a very strong draft is what I was getting at with the trade. I think CHI can use that pick well. Maybe an underpay, but he had 18 goals last season. He had a really good 2nd season, but no one knows if he can replicate that. Your last part makes sense, and I thought that too.

15 overall pick, 40pt winger is a pile of crap? DeBrincat had 45 pts last season.

If you are looking at it that way, you mean a 30 point winger and 15th overall will take a few years to develop and after about 8 overall the players are just not the same. But I am sure you are totally aware of that. It is a gamble like no other getting a 40 goal guy after 3 really. Debrincat is one.

How do you go from Johnsson's best season and then compare it to Dubcat's worst? You're basically giving Chicago the same value for Debrincat that you got for Kapanen, except at least you got Hallander's ELC as opposed to Johnsson $3.4 mil cap hit.

What they are doing is they are already the 5th youngest team in the league and got through the play-in round something the Leafs didn't do.

Chicago already has the #17 pick, it's not like we are desperate for another pick and obviously Debrincat is easily worth a top 10 pick so I get your are trying to make up that gap. The problem here is you are suggesting Rosen who is worthless to the Hawks who have a logjam of 3rd line players and prospects, and Johnsson who with the Hawks roster is WAY overpriced for what he brings, makes that up.

53 points prorated to a full season.

You're earlier comment, you forget Cat his rookie season had 28 goals, then 41 goals, then 18 goals. The kid is only 22 years old also and should settle in around 30 to 32 goals a a season. Look at Nylander at age 22 and where he was at? William had 6 goals, 22, and 20 goals at the same age. Johnsson couldn't even make the league at that age. Would you trade Nylander for Johnsson, Rosen and the 15th OA? I'm guessing not a chance in hell and while Cat's value is not equal to Nylander it's that far off from Nylander either.
