No Krug

Description
The more I reread Krugs quotes from today make me think we either overpay him, or he walks. Hes a great guy and want to set his family up for success and given how good Gryz has looked on the top PP, it may be in the Bruins best interest to let him go.

And as much as its been overdone on this site, I think Nurse for Debrusk makes a lot of sense. I've loved Debrusk since day one, but we really haven't seen a big uptick in production over the past two year. I still think it'll be giving up on him too early but you need to give up something to get a top Dman, free agency is dry as a bone. EDM's defensive structure is terrible and I could see Nurse flourishing in the Bruins system, hes still very young. Ekholm is another guy Id like to see the Bs go after if Krug leaves

That opens up a signing for Hoffman, who I've always wanted the Bruins to go after. I get that a lot of his production comes on the PP, but the dude can shoot and if Ive ever seen a team that needs a shooter after watching the playoffs, its the Bruins. This also adds a lethal weapon to PP2 where there isnt normally one. Hall is too big of a question mark at likely too high of a price. He's not a guy like Backes who throws his body around so I think he can have some longevity in his career. Toffoli and Dadonov are also options.

For better or for worse Chara looks like he'll be back. Give him 15 minutes a night helping Lauzon/Clifton and getting most of his starts in the Dzone/ PK.

They can certainly dish off Ritchie but I dont really see the point in selling low on him. Hes at such a small cap hit might as well whip him into shape and try to increase his value.

Stop trading Kase, hes going to play the year with the Bruins

Yea we need top 6 forwards but if Krug leaves, we also need a top 4 LHD and Id rather not sign Gustafsson or some other FA thatll be overpaid. You throw Nurse or Klefbom into our system and they're immidetly better. Then it gives you cap to sign a guy like Hoffman who can actually score consistantly. This core still has a few really good years left but the Bruins need to be in win-now mode, not wait for a top 6 forward to break out. Hoffman is better thank Debrusk and I dont think our PP will take a huge hit with Gryz/McAvoy and the addition of Hoffman

Yea, he could probably get more money with less term but im not sure a team will offer him more than 5 years. Seems like the kind of player that wants to win

Exactly. IFFFF Krug leaves we can talk about it, but bruins would rather a Klefbom or someone else that isnt the mighty inconsistent Nurse

I would rather Kelfbom yeah, but the trade would be Klefbom for Debrusk 1 for 1 (yall dont ALSO get a 3rd) and if you want Moore he is worth exactly 0 (no more no less) so take him lol.
but this only all happens IFFFF Krug leaves and IFFFF the bruins can get another top 6 winger

bruins need 5v5 scorers. hoffman put up 14 goals at 5v5 taking 105 shots on goal. toffoli put up 16 goals but took 164, i think the idea for me is that i want the guy pumping as much to the goal as we can to create rebounds or soft goals vs trying to be cute with the scoring/onetimers.

Hoffman had 18 playing primarily with Toninato and Vatrano. I totally get your 5 on 5 point, but if the Bruins can get someone whos coming off a 36 and 29 (in a shortened year) the Bruins would jump over joy. I think Toffoli, Hoffman and Dadonov would be good fits with us regardless

well yea, the point of the post was to show what could happen if he leaves. Id think EDM values Klefbom more than Nurse

Which is because he is better, which is why iFFFF the trade were to happen, it would be for the better of the two
