zero part of this is realistic. jarry isnt getting 5m aav for 7 years. petro isnt taking a paycut... and hall will sign for more in FA. Bouwmeester is probably going to retire himself after collapsing on the bench and dieing.

Why would Tuuka Rask retire? Plus wouldn't signing a player from the very team that took the cup away from Boston mess with the chemistry? Don't get me wrong, Pietrangelo is a nice dude and has a lot of leadership abilities but do you really think he's going to have good chemistry with guys like Marchand, Krejci, and possibly Chara (if he's around for another year)?

Ottawa doesn't give a **** about being even somewhat complaint. I'm sure they'd accept in a heartbeat LOL

Ottawa hard declines, we’re not giving up draft capitol for your garbage. I wouldn’t give a 7th for that. Just because our owner is an asshole doesn’t mean our GM is an idiot jfc

Honestly if Chara retires and Krug asks for too much money, I think Pietrangelo coming to Boston would help them a lot especially in leadership and defensive chemistry. McAvoy and Clifton will probably have to mature more quickly than anticipated but Pietrangelo will help a lot especially after winning the Cup last year.

That's not the price for Grzelcyk.

Someone could simply offer sheet him for $4,227,437 for 3-5 years -- a number that BOS would struggle mightily to match -- and get the player for a 2021 2nd round pick as compensation. No chance BOS lands a 2nd and a 3rd on top of that price.

I am not denying that. I actually just did a post not to long ago but the only reason I didn't have Pietrangelo on their was because of the possibility of resentment towards him. I feel he would fill the hole Krug would create because it seems he is leaning towards testing free agency. I feel that a lot of players in the league respect him, but I feel if he were to join the team, he would probably feel pressured to help win the team a cup, creating some tension in the locker room when playoff games are lost.

I'm sure there will always be pressure in some capacity because our current core maybe has like 2-3 years left. Pietrangelo my cause some salty feelings at first but over time we'll warm up to him being there and helping us win another Cup.
