I agree, Dermott still has lots of room to grow MAYBE. But as for the pick, that's not a big deal to a team in win-now mode, unless they're flipping it. Johnsson, idk, the guy is good, but he's pricey considering he's most likely gonna be a third liner. Even then, does STL need top 6 wingers, especially ones with some moderate cap hit?

That deal gets you no where near Parayko, the only thing that has eye-popping value is the pick - and that doesn't make them better *right now*.

I have been digging and can’t find anyone in StL who can confirm this Parayko bargain bin deal that everyone is so in love with. Blues either need top end defenseman if they don’t sign Petro or a top end wing (think Hoffman). We don’t need a middle or bottom pairing D or another middle 6 winger we have those in spades

No, he's not forgetting that the first is 15th overall. A top three defensive RHD will cost you that and a top-flight defensive replacement prospect as the floor upon which to build. A high 1st requires an additional 1st or very low 2nd. Show us a comparable player in the NHL, KHL, AHL, LMNOPQRSHL, etc.
