Ehlers is a fine player, but not worth a top defensive centre and the Habs top scorer.

In sum, Habs give up 5 players for 2 and a prospect. I don't see how this gets them any closer to the promised land.

And Matheson is a horribly overpaid defenceman and Borgstrom is 23 and has yet to make a dent in the league .

Umm I’m going to disagree with you on that one. You’re not giving Danault enough credit, this guy is a legit top 5 Selke candidate who can play a big shut down role in the playoffs. Ehlers is good but you’re acting like he’s an 80+ point player when he’s a 60 point player. Tatar may be 30 but the guy has plenty of game left and puts up just as many points as Ehlers.
