Hawks have no reason for LHD Smith or his cap. Staal doesn't waive his NMC for LA. That's a lot to give up for a year of Danault and two years of Chiarot.

Smith is a cap dump. Georgie is koekkoek+2nd so taking the second away and adding Smith is even. Staal maybe would waive. Questionable. Doesn’t have to be the Kings. Could be min so he could be with his bro. Danault is the 2c the rangers need and chariot is a decent LhD

Why sign Krug, the Rangers have tons of LHD prospects that will be ready in 1 or 2, not to mention the fact that the Rangers don't need any more offensive minded defensemen

Ofc not. He would want longer but idk if the rangers would offer longer. Maybe 8 mil for 3/4

Still no. This is his last big contract and there will be a lot of interest. I can’t see him signing for less than 5 years, prob 6 or 7.

I think you must have accidentally sent the wrong #1 pick to Montreal. NFW!!!! Habs don't want Strome and aren't likely to part with Chiarot without a plan to add an even better Dman. So this is a non-starter.

Signing Krug to the Rangers would probably hurt them long-term considering you have to re-sign Buch, Chytil, Shesterkin the next year. I don’t think it’s worth it, you guys have plenty of offensive minded D-men already and some great prospects coming up on the blue line.

I know. I was kidding. That said, he's probably better than what's on offer here.

Strome, Skinner, 1,2,3 for Danault? Depending on whether Bergevin feels he can get Haula or another decent #3C to come to Montreal, it's possible. The value seems pretty reasonable -- a flawed scorer, a D prospect who'd be a reach but might be a late bloomer, the #13 pick, plus two more. That does seem pretty good, especially if you believe the media reports that he's sulking.
