Possibly realistic for Boston

Description
What can the bruins do to make a run with this core again? The hard part is letting go of Krug who is going to get a big contract, second is what’s the next option or options to replace him. The immediate replacement isn’t within the organization.... at least this year. I believe the bruins and chara agree on a very small 1 year deal that still gives the legend that is Chara 1 more run with this group just at a smaller more maintainable role which could change with injury. 1 year 1.5 for a bottom pair Dman of his caliber is a steal. Next you address the Krug replacement. Debrusk for Nurse (Moore is just a throw in with EDM having a lot of youth and non-contracted Dmen) makes too much sense all around. Edmonton born Debrusk goes home, Nurse wants out and gets out in a place he can immediately slit into a Top 2 or a Top 4. My opinion he fits right next to Carlo perfectly where he can use his physicality and jump into the rush if need be. Ritchie’s time in Boston should be all but over, I picked Vegas because originally I liked Perri coming to Boston but Ritchie doesn’t hold that type of value besides a contract so this really works with any team I was just already on Vegas. The key piece to all of this is Taylor Hall, Taylor Hall is almost a Bruins must have. 28 years old, can score like no other, and is able to do it all over the ice. Krejci on his last year probably won’t be back and giving this team a second line that can score like they would with Hall/Krejci/Studnika or Kase would be lethal to follow “The Perfection Line” I didn’t want to do anything with Rask because I wouldn’t call it realistic to assume his future but with Holtby in the market something is very possible. Cehlarik has signed overseas so take his $900K and take $100K's off of Kuhlman and give it to Grzelcyk.

One little major thing: Don't call the top line the Perfection line.

I’d like this. Like it even better if they convince Chara to retire. Give his $ to Grizz. I’d prefer Kelfbom, cheaper, better, signed an extra year, or Hanafin from Calgary but it would do.

Lines. Kase works well with Krejci flip him with Stud, at least to start.

Nurse with Mac. Grizz with Carlo.

Cehlarik is gone, signed in Sweden. Let Frederic center 4th with Kuraly to LW or give Blidh a shot a LW4.

Lauzon ahead of Zboril.

Doubt Oilers take Moore in the deal tho.

Solid though.

I could see this...but still think Hall gets Jeff Skinner's contract....put him at $9 million and you're *just* at the cap.

Yup straight up Klefbomb or Nurse for Debrusk is a good fair trade.

There is no way the Oilers are taking that trade. They have no defense and just going to give Nurse away for barely a top 6 forward and 6/7 d.

Lol. Debrusk has averaged 25 goals per 82g in his career. There are far worse playing in top 6 in the league, Only 23, under team control. Better than Nurse. Part of the reason EDM has bad defense is because Nurse never developed into the player he was supposed to.

Pretty much every Oilers fan on here are happy to take Debrusk for Nurse.

But whatever you say.

Nurse will be the one to go, trashed their front office, if they move a Dman he’s the most IMO

I’d say that’s all dependent on him, I’ve heard NY wants him but Boston needs to get another top line scorer. Could go closer to 8.5 and still be somewhat comfortable

I'm open to this if the right deal is to be had. In your eyes, what does a fair deal for both sides in a Klefbom-Debrusk trade look like?

For me, Moore can't be part of the deal, and Edmonton needs another quality asset coming back. Is Beecher a non-starter? Lauko and next year's 2nd or 3rd? I'm aware that Studnicka is effectively off the table, but I'd want as much as Edmonton could reasonably get for Klefbom.

Both guys you just named would be relative non-factors. Most likely a pick. Added Moore for depth. Edmonton seems to have quite the youth movement on defense and a lot of them expire in the next couple of years. Not sure if Klefbom is going to be on the move but for me personally he’d be preferred to Nurse if the deal was right

You are getting a 23 year old that has averaged 25 goals per 82 and under team control for a talented but often injured d man. I’d say straight up is fine. Beyond that is probably no deal.

You prefer Klefbom to Nurse for reasons that heavily favour the Bruins, which suggests that he's the more valuable player. There's less than a snowball's chance in hell that trade is one-for-one.

I'd be looking at Trent Frederic and the 2021 2nd given that Beecher and Lauko have been identified as non-starters.

Then no. B’s biggest weakness is middle 6 wingers and they don’t have to trade him.

Only reasons I favor Klef is one extra year and 1m cheaper.

Much rather go after Hanafin than either of them. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Which is justifiable.

My stance strongly comes from the position that Edmonton's options for replacing Klefbom are effectively non-existent. Despite all his flaws, he is Edmonton's best defenceman, and I think we've seen enough to suggest that Nurse isn't going to foot that bill. I don't see a reality where Krug signs in Edmonton, and I wouldn't hold my breath on a Sergachev offersheet.

I like DeBrusk, I just don't like trading the only defender Edmonton can justify putting on the top-pair for him without it being a sweetheart trade for Edmonton.
