Great signing, he has the potential to be a decent bottom 6 guy

He's still far from Evans.

Nice. We’ll see if he can work his way into the lineup this year. He’ll probably be Laval’s #1 or #2 C this year, and be one of the first call ups after an injury.

His hockey sense is good along with his defensive awareness and he's got some offensive flair. The biggest thing is that in the last two years he finally started using his big frame to make some space for himself and laying hits which was something missing to his game as he was a lot skinnier, he could very well late bloom and become a decent roster player at some point.
Let's not forget that he was able to put just under half a PPG in the SHL and the AHL so he's no bum. I always loved his overall game and from the get go thought he would need many years of dev (Late bloom), still waiting for the bloom but I see it coming.

On the contract itself, perfection. You're giving him a one year prove it deal that you are good enough to stay in the org and if not Montreal just signs another one of their rookies on reserve list (AKA Ikonen).

He's solid on D and is decent and hitting so fourth liner.

There isn't really a point in saying "4th liner at best". He's had bottom 6 potential his entire career and nobody is arguing that.

I agree, but I don’t know how this signing has anything to do with it.

Great that we got him for this cheap. At worst, he’ll be a reliable call up guy. At best, he’ll prove himself as a third or fourth liner

hahaha love it. He should be the 14th forward next year. I think it's great that his cap hit was reduced to supplement his pay in the minors. I was expecting him to be re-signed in the 800k-830k range. He should switch agents lol

He's a 24 YO that put up 19 points in 47 AHL games and only played in the NHL because of injuries. He has no leverage for anymore money.

Habs fans in a nutshell. The guy said what he is lol. You're pretty much saying the same thing he did in a different way but the fanbase is getting their backs up over it. He's a fourth liner with minimal potential to exceed that.

Nonetheless, there's nothing bad with this signing.
