The contract is just too good when he plays like he can.

I was referring to the Nylander-Reinhart swap. Don't think Leafs fans will be on board with that

Explicitly not to Buffalo or not getting traded at all?

Explicitly not to Buffalo is a guarantee. Why would they trade one of their star players to a rival?

Not getting traded at all is up for debate. Apparently, there haven't been great offers for him, so it sounds like it's best to leave him off the table in any negotiations.

If the Leafs trade Willy, it's for a defenceman.

I dont really understand the culture change for Reinhart or Nylander. Didn't these 2 just have their best seasons ever? Why do they need a culture change?

Neither have won a single playoff series during their careers. It's a long shot, but I think a new start in a new environment could work wonders for both players' careers...

Nylander's game isn't really suffering, just some things to tweak come playoff time, which will come with age. So no, he doesn't need a culture change. Got plenty of that with a new coach.

There is so much dumb crammed into your comments... Nylander is 4 years into a career and youre coming up with that silliness. Really really really bad logic and hockey knowledge there

Okay then. Let me ask you this - is Reinhart a step down from Nylander in any way? I think they're pretty equal.

It's not about suffering. It's about TOR and BUF trying something else to bring them success since their current approach hasn't really worked...

Buffalo may need to try something else. If the Leafs move Nylander then it'll be help for the back end. Other then that, would prefer to keep a 30 goal scorer with a good contract.

Thats just the thing though. They have seen tremendous success in their current approach. They are both just coming off their best seasons ever. You are trying to use playoff series wins as a measure of an individual player and it simply doesn't work that way in a team game like hockey.
