I'd offer like a 2nd + 3rd for one of Graves or Zadorov. I think either player could be a smart fit with Brannstrom playing with right side.

That’s zads price, Graves would demand more

I think a garage sale is a bit of an overreaction. Losing a round 2 game 7 in OT when youre missing Grubauer, Francouz, Landeskog, Johnson, Donskoi, Calvert, Wilson, and Timmins doesnt exactly jump out to me as a sign that the team needs change

If the team stayed healthy I think (I admit I am biased but I believe this is also the general consensus) the only teams that would stand a chance at stopping them would be VGK and TBL (BOS too if they werent eliminated). I agree with Mackinnons post game comments. I dont think this team needs much change - they can win with this group if they can stay healthy and get a bit of luck

Canucks would be interested in Graves. We'll likely have an Expansion protection slot open on defense.

@Richard88.. garage sale? This team was a goal away from going to the conference finals with their 3rd string goalie, no landeskog, no Calvert, no johnson.

Give your head a shake, who else is winning games with Hutchinson as their starting goaltender, when every shot against makes your b-hole pucker

Jeez it’s a little early is it not? If anything this run was just a sneak peak of the next few years when the Avs truly open their window.

2nd + 3rd is the price. Alternatively you can send us Tierney, how does that sound?

For Zadorov you have a deal.

Graves is worth more than that. I'd take the NYI 1st if it ends up being in the 20-24 range.

You really think a team that's been ravaged with injury issues all season needs Murray and Anderson? Huge swerve at that price

"Garage sale" might be a bit strong... just think of it as a marketing ploy to get people into the AGM to comment lol

That said, I do think we've had a few passengers in the playoffs who needed to do better.

The 3rd line has been especially atrocious, and was even relegated to 4th line minutes. We need a change there, whether it is Jost/Compher/Namestnikov/Donskoi making way.

We also need to move at least one of Zadorov/Graves/Cole. I'm simply looking for the best offers here.

And I'm not sure I want to gamble on Grubauer's groins and Francouz's mentality another year.

This team was better than Dallas all series, but was let down by ridiculously bad special teams, bad refereeing (early in the series especially), and most of all goaltending.

That said, I think we can improve quite a lot in certain areas by being proactive. Hence this thread.

Grubauer is fine. We just need some insurance in case his groin flares up again.

Unlike the rest of our 3rd liners Nichuskin actually has size and is very solid defensively and will probably be cheap to keep around, so I'd be inclined to keep him.

That's a reasonable point. I was going for our highest-upside available LD. Nutivaara might suit you better. And Anderson's the scoring wing upside that would be needed in a trade like this.

Small sample size I know but it seemed like Girard was on the ice for like every goal against.

I agree with you, and I think they need to make at one impact move, maybe two, to really push that window open. Doesn’t have to be earth shattering by any means. The core is there, and some guys are going to get better as they grow. Go get a forward that can drive offense in the middle six, or a consistent goaltender that can stay healthy. The way they lost sucks, but the playoff experience for this group over the last 3 seasons will be important over the next 3 seasons.

Colorado is on the right path to success, patience might be the best solution. Byram and Newhook are going to be great players. At the same time this team is a legit contender now, if Grubauer was healthy I think they move on. I might be wrong with this statement but the lack of scoring from the third and fourth line will hurt you in the playoffs. Add a veteran winger and get a more balanced attack, Nate is amazing but like McDavid and Drai in Edmonton they can’t win you every game. With the prospect pool they have pick one and a first and get a veteran scorer.

Not too sure what Graves' value would be. Something around Virtanen?
