Description
If Rakell wants to go to KHL, and Anaheim still doesn't have enough money to resign Lindholm, let's make them pay with this offersheet. Basically we're trading away Methot, 2 1st rounders, a 2nd rounder, and a 3rd rounder for Dano (Decent prospect), Comrie (A huge upgrade on our goalie prospects), and the key piece Hampus Lindholm which will make easily the best pairing in the NHL with Karlsson.

Winnipeg has only one decent LHD in Enstrom. Trouba did play LHD, but he's clearly a RHD and much better off there. Stuart is terrible, and Morrisey isn't 100% ready yet. Besides if Methot doesn't play well, he can be exposed in the expansion draft by the Jets, while we can expose Phaneuf instead. If Phaneuf must be protected, we'll expose Ryan as our forward.

Not quite sure, how upgrading the Sens "makes Canada great again". If by trading Methot is needed to get under the cap, I think the Sens would settle for lot less from Winnipeg.
Regarding the expansion draft. IMO my opinion Phanuef would like being in Las Vegas (his wife is an actress), but I doubt Ryan or Phanuef would be taken by Vegas in the draft.

Why not try to offer sheet lindholm. It is fairly clear he wants the money he thinks he deserves and the ducks can't afford the price above unless they make some other moves. I agree that the Vegas crapshooters will not take an aging vet with a $7M plus price tag. There will be too many skilled but value players available in the $3m-$5m range.

You cannot use other teams picks in an offer sheet. Ottawa will need to get their own second back, good luck getting it from Toronto.

Melnyk is a cheap owner, No way would he approve $7.3 million to Lindholm will never happen.

We're already over budget, so our chances of offer-sheeting Lindholm are pretty much zero.

As for the Winnipeg trade, it's completely lopsided. An overpriced aging defenseman who just came off a surprisingly bad season for a top-5 goalie prospect is already lopsided, even without Dano and the second round pick.

I'd take out Comrie altogether, and propose Methot with retained salary for Dano and a 2nd, and even then that wouldn't make sense for either team. Yes, Winnipeg'a pretty thin on LHD, but they've got Josh Morrissey coming up. Him and Enstrom are enough for their first two lines.

Plus, Ottawa would need a replacement, and I'm pretty sure Lindholm is out of the question. So we'd still just be left with a gaping hole.
