That’s a no from Columbus.... we’d like to actually keep what few draft picks we have left. We also don’t really want another wing for Anderson.

Too much for Johnsson imo.

You definitely could use some scoring and speed help. Johnsson for Anderson would likely be fair as long as Anderson doesn't want a big raise, which after his 1 goal season I doubt he can demand that.

Devils don't accept this, it's a win value-wise but as a rebuilding team they have no reason to give up a solid prospect and a 3rd round pick for a 30 year old goalie

Meh... the difference between Johnsson and Anderson isn’t very big. Anderson is big, fast and can score. Both are 3rd line wings when healthy imo. Columbus needs to figure out who the 2nd line center is going to be and neither of them are that for sure so... I don’t see why either team makes this trade. The only upgrade on Johnsson is hes younger (3 years I think) and he has a controllable contract, other then that it’s pretty even, but as I said Columbus doesn’t need a wing, we need a center who can drive the offense.

He's 6 months younger.

Closer then I though..... sorry... but Columbus would probably keep Anderson at that point. We need the cap space.

The only way Jarmo moves Anderson is if it brings back an elite forward. Otherwise, Jarmo is going to keep him. The problem is Anderson if healthy is far more valuable than what is being offered. Jarmo would rather keep him this year and risk losing via UFA than trade him for a very underwhelming return.

A) you say with a lot of confidence what Jarmo will do not what you think he will do or what you would do

B) a guy with 1 goal doesn't get you an elite forward

Fair enough. The picks may have been a bit much but I thought it made sense to give you guys some more scoring and us some toughness

A) Jarmo said it himself. He values Josh Anderson a lot. He is not going to give him away.

B) Jarmo is likely not looking at this season to judge Anderson. Example: Say Domi had a terrible season in which he missed a good part of it because of a shoulder tear that was caused by him playing hurt. Is Montreal going to give him away? No, they would justify keeping because they would rather gamble on him rebounding and becoming the player they know he is than selling low.
