I mean Athanasiou was worth two seconds and Gagner. Athanasiou has a higher goal output ceiling though. Ugh, I'm conflicted over this one as a Red Wings fan. I don't want to give up seconds, but Detroit does need more right wing depth. Virtanen would be a third line winger for them behind Mantha and Zadina. If it was a third, I wouldn't even hesitate. I might ultimately take the deal as Detroit, but I would have to hem and haw for a bit.

Oh, let me add something. Detroit's second? My biggest complaint. That's the first pick of the second round. Makes the deal a little harder for me. Detroit has two other seconds if you're interested.

from detroits prospective best i would give is a edm 4th for virtanen .. 3rd line right wing rfa with mod rights .. when they have at least 3 yrs to go in rebuild . before playoff are even in the cards .. and contender status 5 yrs out
