Agreed, rangers are paying a lot but Dunn looks like a really solid dman

What?? We are trying to win now, not three years from now maybe. The value isn't terrible, but this is taking a sizable (and young and cheap and still improving) chunk out of a contender in exchange for B+ futures.

No deal.

I agree, but he may be a luxury the blues can't afford

He's not a luxury, he's a core piece, both now and in the future. And he has no arbitration rights, so he won't be that expensive. He's not going anywhere.

If the Blues can't afford him, how can the Rangers? Even on this post...it's 20 man roster with 3.5m in cap space and the miracle disappearance of 8.5m Lundqvist

Uhh, nooooo. That's not even close to true. Not only do we have two dozen other players to deal, but there are 29 other teams to deal with. And trading Dunn doesn't even clear much space.

There are a lot of things the rangers could do to fit dunn if they wanted to, even with Hanks contract

Unless that 1st is the rangers. Blues pass. The deal makes literally zero sense for them. They are in win mode and Dunn is part of the blues future. Why would they trade a guy who was top 5 D in the league in advanced analytics. He's looking to grow into a potential Norris candidate. And you want to give up a former 2nd rounder who has the potential to be a top 4 D and 1 pick . . .

Counter offer Steen for panarin and you retain half. That's what you're offering

Shows how little you know of the Blues D. They don't run pairings that way
