Ghost and JVR are gonna be very difficult to trade.

You either have to really make it worth a teams while, or look for a bad contract swap.

Meier is great winger, but not sure he is worth that much.

That said, its impressive how many good prospects the Flyers have - not elite guys - but good, future NHLers....so maybe they do it.

I honestly don’t think it’s that bad. Farabee is a top 6 young player, York is a top 15 pick last year and a 1st

I think if PHI is willing to let JvR go, they won't have to pay for another team to take him. Maybe have to retain a few $$, but he is not Lucic, Eriksson, etc

I see JVR as a 31 yr old, on the decline. In a flat cap there are better ways to allocate $ than spending even 5 of it on an aging power forward.

Agree Ghost for a 2nd or 3rd and a 2 mill player.
JVR (1-2 mill retained) for a 2nd or 3rd

Yeah, me too....only thing is PHI's pipeline is deep. Maybe with their recent success they give up some 'later' in exchange for some 'now'.

Personally I perfer to judge by what I know about the players rather than the draft position. Farabee looks good but not a 30 goal top line player ever, Ferraro is better than York imo and only slightly older.

I love Ferraro but I don't think he's ever going to be more than a bottom pair defensemen. He's a quick on gaps and strong on the boards, but he doesn't have enough skill to fly through the neutral zone and create chances like other defensemen. I'd honestly even be willing to throw in another prospect (Frost, Brink, Ratcliffe) to make this deal happen.

I mean it's pretty hard to speculate what Meier would cost from the Flyers since we need RW talent and you're taking RW talent with Meier leaving. So that's already not the greatest start. Honestly our LD prospect pool, while not fantastic can probably cover for Ferraro leaving, so I'm really not sure York is a great fit. Farabee and Frost we'd be very interested in though.

Ferraro and Meier moving are pretty big blows to this team though so we're gonna be asking a lot just FYI.

I know it's a tough ask, but I think Ferraro is being over-valued because of how well he played and the team's lack of success. He's a good player but I don't see him being better than a bottom-pair/4th defensemen. I'm more in the camp of what you saw last year is what you're gonna get.

Meier is a really good player, but I think the projection of Farabee, York, and Frost/Brink/Ratcliffe and the 1st is more to make up for his departure.

I think you’re pretty close with the Meier. And I somewhat agree with what you’ve said about Ferraro, but we’re still pretty high on him. Despite our stinker of a season, he continually brought intensity, physicality, and new life to an otherwise lifeless blue line. I’d say he’s easily going to be a decent 4th D-man after this year. He is slightly older but he also continually improved over the course of the year. He’s probably close to his ceiling, but I definitely think there’s more there.
