I would rather have Valimaki and Hanifin individually than OEL wtf Calgary easily rejects. We don’t need OEL at all, we have 5 decent LD, one of whom is the reigning Norris champ and the other 4 are under 23. It’s easily our strongest position. Gaudreau is also worth significantly more than TK. Add Frost+2nd and it’s worth it for Calgary but I’ve been told Philly really isn’t interested in a LW

OEL is easily one of the best two way defensemen in the league. He is a top 10 d man in the NHL who has played on a bad team in a poor hockey market his whole carrier. It would take Hanafin, Valimaki and a first to get him. Sure his contract might seem like a huge gamble but with both know Gio is no longer a Norris trophy caliber d man and OEL is a bonafide number 1 d man for the next 4-5 years. Plus, Calgary does not have another true number 1 d man in the ranks.

Calgary rejects all of them. Flames will never trade gaudreau for konecny, if they flyers want gaudreau it will cost konecny, frost, Myers , 2022 first and brink. the Arizona one is horrible for Calgary.

Really? Del Zotto instead of Stone. Schenn at league minimum instead of Forbort at over 2 mil. Sure losing Hamonic sucks but EG is a really good d man. Can’t keep Brodie.
