This dump kills all their cap space they can play with and then they will have to move out someone just to make room for virtanen

Between Robertson, Kiviranta, Dellandrea, & potentially UFA's like Janmark or Perry, Dallas has plenty of cheaper depth forward options. They aren't going to trade their 1st Round Pick for a guy they don't absolutely NEED.

Sutter isn't Vancouvers problem, the problem is with contracts that affect 21-22 season too, like Eriksson, Beagle, Roussel.
The key to Vancouvers issues lie with Ericksson, frees up cap space this year for Toffoli/Markstrom/Tanev and in 21-22 for Pettersson/Hughes/Demko
My suggestion is to trade Eriksson/High pick/Prospect to a team with an aging vet on a 20-21 expiring high cap hit deal, place that vet in the minors.

virtanen had 18 goals last year and is under 24

So? Donskoi had 16 goals and is only 27. Do you want to take on a cap dump and give us 2 picks for him?

Neither are your ideal 2nd line forward, but Donskoi's defensive game (as per his analytics) makes him a much better fit on the 3rd line.

Whatever the case, I don't think Virtanen is the level of forward we need to add to bolster our roster.
